Who Am I
I'm currently a full-time software engineer at a T500 company for a little over 3 years now. I was a student who didn't go to a T10 school for computer science, but still managed to land a job offer through mostly luck—and a couple of knowledge bits that actually helped.
Purpose of this site
The purpose of this site is to help early career people like CS students or new grads to increase their chances of getting a job or a promotion. I don't guarantee to get you a FAANG/Quant offer but provide advice and tips that I wish I had as I progressed through my career (from student to a full-time software engineer to first promotion). While there are many other resources out there, I aim to add practical, inside-track perspective.
Offerings
Even though there's a lot of resources out there, there always seems to be missing "inside information". While some of these I learned as I go and by parsing through typical CS reddits, discords, and asking others in the industry, some of the new people don't have that luxury. For starters, my offering includes resume reviews including tips and tricks to increase chance of interviews, interview prep, and first job advice. I will provide free general advice for each topic but will also provide paid services for more detailed advice and guidance. I want money too (who doesn't?).
Some future plans if this site takes off:
- Live mock interviews and feedback sessions
- Short / long term mentoring programs (building a personalized project to be resume worthy or potentially future business) — say no to "to-do app"
- A career growth section
- Unspoken rules at jobs (e.g. how to get promoted, how to get a raise, how to become a 10x engineer)
- A section for job searching tips and tricks
